The 24-year-old singer believes she makes more hit records when she adorns a great outfit because it makes her feel in the "zone", and she will "always" wear an oversized hooded jumper with a pair of stiletto heels if she wants to feel "bossy" in the studio.
Speaking about her style preferences when she is recording, the brunette beauty told WWD Online: "I feel like I write a better song when I put an outfit together. When you cut a vocal in the studio, you have to cut the vocal as if you're on stage because it's the thing people are going to listen to the most, so I have to feel good and feel in my zone. I always wear baggy hoodies with heels, so I can feel a bit bossy."
The 'Boom Clap' hitmaker has admitted she has been a fan of the 75-year-old British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood because her creations suit the vocalist's body shape "so well".
She said: "I've always loved Vivienne Westwood. She's British and she's punk. She makes clothes that fit my body so well."
But Charlie - whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison - also "loves" Stella McCartney's designs and Moschino garments.
She added: "I love Stella McCartney and Moschino too."
Aside from the luxury brands, Charli also shops in "stripper stores" because she believes there are "some really amazing tailors" and "incredible stuff" in the niche retailers.
Speaking previously to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I'm literally just wearing what I had in my suitcase as I just came up back from America so I'm just wearing a load of different stuff. I got this from a stripper store it says 'Sex Symbol', it is one in LA from Hollywood Boulevard.
"I get a lot of clothes from stripper stores - there's some really amazing tailors in there and they make some incredible stuff. I haven't been into any stripper stores in England, but if anyone knows of any I'll be sure to check them out. I have a stylist who is really good friends with one of the main people who runs the stripper store in LA and she makes me look like a true stripper, it's wonderful."
