The midfielder is leaving Manchester United for the second time following the expiration of his contract and Pogba wants to be able to produce his best for his new team.
The French international has been linked with moves to a number of top European sides, including his former club Juventus, and says that happiness is his priority.
Speaking to Uninterrupted, Pogba said: "As long as you click with the team, the fans, the club that loves you, that knows you... myself and all the players can only enjoy themselves and give their best.
"When you're free mentally and you enjoy yourself, that's when you perform.
"You need to be comfortable where you are, with you're playing with... that's the most important thing.
"Everyone wants to feel loved. Everyone. Everyone needs that. Your soul needs that, to feel appreciated."
Pogba continued: "I just want the best for me. I'm putting everything together, taking my time and looking for the best. I just want to play football, be myself always and enjoy what I do. I need to enjoy what I do, because otherwise, I cannot perform well.
"I don't want to be thinking negative. You can be losing games or losing trophies, but you have to be happy where you are and enjoy yourself. That's what I'm looking for."
Pogba joined United in 2016 in a record £89 million move but is leaving for nothing this summer after a disappointing spell and the Red Devils thanked him for his efforts in a lengthy statement.
Part of the statement read: "For a boy that joined the Academy at 16 to make over 200 United appearances and lift the Youth Cup, along with two major pieces of silverware – not to mention the World Cup at international level – is something that should be applauded and celebrated.
"Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.
"We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey."
