Marco Silva’s Fulham future ‘in jeopardy as Lilywhites fear Premier League relegation’

Marco Silva’s Fulham future ‘in jeopardy as Lilywhites fear Premier League relegation’

Fulham are reportedly weighing up the future of manager Marco Silva.

According to talkSPORT, the Cottagers are considering what the future of the 48-year-old head coach at the club will be due to his reluctance to sign a new deal.

As of now, Silva will become a free agent when his current contract expires at the end of the season, and the manager had previously admitted he had become frustrated with Fulham over their lack of spending - particuarly over the summer window, which he said he had “expected more” from.

Silva is said to have a release clause in his contract worth approximately £15 million, and had attracted interest from Nottingham Forest after they sacked Ange Postecoglou and before they hired Sean Dyche.

Fulham bosses are now reportedly worried the Lilywhites may find themselves in a relegation battle following the club’s 2-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday (08.11.25).

After losing five of their last six games, Fulham are sat in 15th place on the Premier League table, just one point above the bottom three.

This comes soon after Fulham owner Shahid Khan stressed Silva - who joined Craven Cottage in July 2021 - would “definitely” part of the club’s “long-term plans”.

Khan said of Silva: “He’s been great. I really like him, not only as a person, [but also] as a football manager, head coach. Definitely, I think he’s in our long-term plans.”

Following Fulham’s loss to Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Silva said the Lilywhites must “look in the mirror” if they want to avoid a relegation scrap.

Speaking after the game, the head coach said: “I think we got what we deserved.

“We played [well for] the first 20 minutes of the second half – nothing more. It's not good enough at all.

“We didn't cope. It's a moment for us to blame ourselves and look at ourselves in the mirror.”

To add insult to injury, Rodrigo Muniz, 24, had to leave the pitch after just 17 minutes of play in the second half after suffering an injury.

Silva said: “Like all the teams we need all our strikers for the demands of the Premier League. The impact [from him)]was good in the first moments. But after he felt something again [injured].”
