In June last year, Owen left the Scarlets to join English top-flight side Leicester ahead of the 2017-18 season and big things were expected after five impressive years with the Welsh outfit.
However, the 29-year-old Welshman suffered a shoulder injury during the previous campaign and surgery was required to fix the issue, ending his debut year at Welford Road Stadium early.
Owen is now hoping to put his injury troubles behind him and hit the ground running with the Tigers.
Speaking to LTTV from the club's Oval Park Training Ground, he said: "I want to show Matty [O'Connor] and the supporters what I can actually do."
There is a lot of pressure on Leicester this season after a poor 2017/18 campaign but Owen says spirits are good within the camp.
"Spirits are high ... ambitions are high as well," he added. "We have a lot to achieve after not achieving what we wanted to last season ... things are looking really good."
