Wasps face survival fight Young admits

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young has admitted the club are facing a fight for survival following a run of poor results.

Wasps have seen their squad ripped apart through injury which has helped contribute to a long run of defeats that has seen them slip to eighth in the Premiership table.

Young's side now face 11th placed Worcester at the Richo Arena on Saturday and another defeat will put them in big trouble.

"We've put ourselves in a position where we've got to look over our shoulders but all the clubs outside the top six are in the same boat," said Young.

"There is pressure on us. I don't think our confidence is in a fantastic place; I'd be a liar to say that it is. Wins build confidence and that hasn't been happening, so there's a bit of nervousness.

"The players all know what is at stake, but we have perhaps been a bit slow to recognise that. On occasions I think they've felt that we're good enough, we'll win games and head up the table. But now, you can really sense the attitude has changed. We know we have to come up with some wins."
