Butland interest hots up
Cherries boss Eddie Howe was hoping to sign England international Butland and bring him in as number one for next season, but other clubs are also interested in the Stoke keeper, with newly-promoted Villa ready to enter the race. Butland is keen to return to the Premier League as he looks to get back into Gareth Southgate's England plans on a regular basis and will weigh up his options this summer, provided the Potters allow him to move on. Stoke will reportedly only listen to offers in excess of £20million for the 26-year-old, who has two years to run on his current contract at the bet365 Stadium, and that could prove a sticking point for both Bournemouth and Villa in their attempts to land him. Howe is hoping to upgrade his goalkeeper options at the Vitality Stadium, with Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc still at the club, while youngster Mark Travers was given a run-out in the final couple of Premier League games last season.
