Dave & Buster's - a restaurant and video arcade company with 114 branches to date - is planning to put in over 500 headsets across its venues by June 14.
Kevin Bachus, senior vice president of entertainment and gaming stratgery at Dave & Buster's said: "We're excited to partner with HTC Vive in the largest location-based VR activation in U.S. and to bring the most immersive VR system to our customers.
"Across all of our locations, we know families will enjoy the stunning entertainment that virtual reality offers, and our guests can look forward to experiencing new exclusive content throughout the year."
Meanwhile, the companies have suggested the partnership could bring the technology to more people and in continually exciting ways.
Daniel O'Brien, HTC Vive's GM for the Americas, added: "VR has proven to be a consistent traffic generator in entertainment venues and we're thrilled to be partnering with Dave & Buster's to take Vive nationwide into their locations.
"Through our collaboration, we're combining their location-based entertainment expertise and the world's best VR in VIVE. This is a huge opportunity for more consumers to be exposed to VR and amazing VR content."
The news follows the establishment of VR entertainment centres, including several in New York City, while a firm called The Void has announced plans to open nine new "experience centres".
