Millennials' travel inspired by grandparents

Millennials look to their grandparents for travel inspiration.

A study by has revealed that younger generations like to take travel advice and direction from their older relatives.

A fifth of the people under 30 who were surveyed said they were inspired to do the travelling based on the adventures their grandparents and parents had taken.

A fifth of millennials also admitted to having a glamourous grandparent, with one in eight revealing that they thought their older relative was cooler and travelled more than they did.

David Spasovic, Marketing Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: "We love that travel-hungry millennials are looking to their older counterparts for advice and direction on where to travel.

"With their increasing use of digital technology such as the app, and appetite for more adventurous travel, it's clear that older travellers have still got it when it comes to exploring the globe."

The study was conducted in support of's new campaign, which will see Insta-Grandma Baddie Winkle complete her Ultimate Bad Ass Bucket List Trip.

Baddie will be joined by her 21-year-old granddaughter as she experiences some of the things on her bucket list including mixing cocktails at a New York City rooftop bar and riding a helicopter across the Grand Canyon.

Speaking of her upcoming trip, Baddie said: "I am so excited for my trip with! I have always wanted to hang on the sidelines at a Cowboys football game, go to the Moulin Rouge in Paris and watch cheeky volleyball players do their thing on a beach in Brazil.
