Eddie Hearn teases mega card in Saudi Arabia

Eddie Hearn is working on creating an "historical night" in Saudi Arabia.

The Matchroom Boxing promoter has revealed that he's already held talks with people in the Kingdom about putting an event together on December 23 - but Hearn is remaining tight-lipped about their specific ambitions at this point in time.

Hearn, 44, told Boxing Social: "There’s gonna be a big night in December, and we’ll be announcing very soon. It will be massive. You’re gonna love it.

"I can’t give you all the information at the moment, but everything’s going in the right direction for it to be a historical night in boxing."

Speculation has suggested that former heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder could both appear on a star-studded card in Saudi Arabia. But Hearn won't give anything away for the moment.

He said: "It’s gonna feature boxers from all over the world. You will be surprised by the names. There’s some great British fighters, too."

Hearn has been approached about one or two of his fighters being involved with the event.

However, he suggested that nothing has been finalised at the moment.

Hearn - who has previously promoted the likes of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Oleksandr Usyk - shared: "I don’t want to say too much because I know I talk to much.

"As I said, we have been approached regarding that date. It’s six weeks, we’ve got a big international stable of fighters, some of which would be ready to fight on December 23. We’ll see what happens."
