Borussia Dortmund ‘hell bent on keeping Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen’

Borussia Dortmund is reportedly determined to retain loan sensations Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen beyond the summer transfer window.

The dynamic duo from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively embarked on spells to the Bundesliga powerhouse in January.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano told The Sun Borussia Dortmund will "really try" to keep both Sancho and Maatsen beyond the summer.

Sancho – disillusioned with his limited opportunities at Old Trafford – found refuge at Signal Iduna Park, while Maatsen, yearning for more than sporadic cameos at Stamford Bridge, seized the chance to ply his trade under Dortmund's Edin Terzic.

The move has proven fruitful for both players, who have flourished in the Bundesliga after mustering a mere 15 combined Premier League appearances prior to their loan departures.

Their commendable performances have not escaped bosses at Dortmund, who are reportedly eager to secure their services permanently.

The recent confirmation of a fifth Champions League berth for Bundesliga teams has bolstered Dortmund's aspirations, as the club eyes the financial windfall accompanying qualification to fortify their ranks.

With Sancho and Maatsen earmarked as key targets, Dortmund appears poised to allocate resources toward securing their long-term futures.

For Sancho, a permanent departure from Manchester United seems imminent, following a public falling-out with manager Erik ten Hag over playing time issues.

Meanwhile, Maatsen – having experienced a peripheral role at Chelsea – is said to be eager to sever ties with Stamford Bridge in favour of a permanent switch to Dortmund.

The left-back's desire for regular minutes aligns with Dortmund's ambitions and his dad said the player was keen to stay at the club.
