Jurgen Klopp will struggle to control emotions during Liverpool finale

Jurgen Klopp admits that it will be "tricky" to handle his emotions as he prepares to leave Liverpool.

The German coach has just two Premier League games left in charge of the Reds and expects to be tearful when he manages the team for the final time against Wolves at Anfield later this month.

Speaking after his team beat Tottenham 4-2 in the Premier League on Sunday (05.05.24), Klopp told Sky Sports: "I would be lying if right now I said I was at the highest level, to do this and that - I cannot pretend.

"I was not emotional today because I know I have another [home game], that’s how it is.

"I know that Wolves will be tricky, a tricky day. It’s in two weeks time, I shouldn’t worry today. For now it’s good and we will see how that day [goes].

"Maybe we’ll be lucky and it’ll be pouring down with rain so we can’t stay outside after the game! You wouldn’t see [the tears]."

The Reds are almost certain to finish third in the Premier League and Klopp was pleased with his team's attacking prowess in the win over Spurs even though the visitors briefly threatened a comeback by pulling back two goals late on.

He said: "Anfield was a special place today again because the boys played outstanding, until we didn't.

"At 4-0 up I made the changes and we lost organisation definitely in that moment and then you could see how good Tottenham could be if we would have let them before.

"[But] we were good in pretty much all areas. The goals were outstanding.

"Mo (Salah) was outstanding and really happy for him that he could play the way he played today. We can see what he's capable of."
