David Beckham slams Man Utd players for behaviour during post-season tour

David Beckham has criticised the conduct of Manchester United's players during their post-season tour of Asia.

The Red Devils have made headlines for the wrong reasons on the trip after winger Amad Diallo made an obscene gesture towards a crowd outside the team's hotel in Malaysia.

Alejandro Garnacho was also spotted in an altercation with a fan who was filming him and Beckham feels that their actions are letting down the club.

The former United player told CBS Sports: "I don't like seeing what's happening at the club.

"It's true that it's the pitch that matters, but I see a lot of things that are not acceptable to me as a fan and a lover of Manchester United. You have to represent the badge. I've seen a lot of things where players didn't act in the right way.

"We understood what it meant to play for Manchester United. We understood what the badge meant.

"Everywhere we travelled, whether in Europe or Asia, we respected the fans. We respected the fact that they came and paid money to see us, to get an autograph or to take pictures. You have to respect that."

Beckham recently implored United chiefs to back manager Ruben Amorim in this summer's transfer market and believes that results will improve next term if the coach gets the players he needs.

The former England captain told The Athletic: "I think Ruben definitely needs to be backed in bringing in the players he wants but I actually don’t know how possible it is. I don’t speak to (part-owner) Jim [Ratcliffe] that often, only from time to time.

"Ruben needs to be backed as a manager to bring in his team and his philosophy; he’s trying that already but I think once he brings his team in and his players, then you’ll see something different.
