The Barcelona winger admitted there are a number of iconic grounds he’s looking forward to playing at in the future, particularly the home stadiums of Premier League sides Manchester United and Liverpool.
Asked where he has never played but would like to, the 17-year-old sportsman told Match magazine: “There are so many I’ve yet to experience, especially outside of Europe.
“In Europe, some of the iconic ones I’d like to play in are Old Trafford and Anfield.”
Yamal keeps an eye on the game outside of his native Spain and among the players he rates are Paris Saint Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal.
Asked his favourite player, he said: “Right now, outside of Barca, I think Ousmane Dembele or Bukayo Saka are doing really well.”
The teenager was proud to turn out for Barcelona against arch rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, which his side won 3-2.
Asked his all-time favourite El Clasico moment, he said: “Well, there are a lot of historic ones, but now that I get to be a part of it, I’d say the most recent Copa del Dey final.
“The way the match played out – and the fact that we won.”
