Derek Chisora drops Zhilei Zhang in favour of Jarrell Miller for his final fight

Derek Chisora is in talks to fight Jarrell Miller.

Del Boy, 41, will be having his 50th career fight on December 13 at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England, and it has now been revealed Chisora is in negotiations to share the ring with Big Baby, 37.

Chisora had initially been due to fight Miller earlier this year, but the match was cancelled due to a reported contractual dispute with Big Baby’s former promoter Dmitry Salita.

Before Miller, Chisora was considering Zhilei Zhang, 42, for his next bout - which is being billed as his final fight in his professional boxing career - though Del Boy has seemingly moved away from Big Bang.

Just last week, Zhang’s advisor Terry Lane revealed they had agreed to the fight in principle, and were waiting for a decision from Chisora’s team.

Lane told Boxing Scene: “We’ve been very quiet about it because our team and Zhang himself, we’re just not ones to rush to social media.

“But we were presented with the fight [three weeks ago] and we accepted in a couple of days.

“So it’s been well over three weeks since the fight has been accepted on our end, in principle.”

Chisora had previously named the three fighters he wanted to share the ring with next - those being Miller, Deontay Wilder, 39 and Dillian Whyte, 37 - though Lane insisted it was Zhang that Del Boy really wanted.

The advisor said: “I know that two of those opponents are not going to work out. I’ve been wrong before, so I can’t say anything in boxing. You can’t say anything with certainty, but I just don’t think two of those fights are in the running.

“What I’m hearing on my end is that the powers that be want to make Zhang versus Chisora. So it’s kind of up to Chisora to say yes or no to it.

“But if he says no, I don't know what direction they would go in, but we would move on and probably focus back on [fighting in] China again [in January].”
