The Brazilian attacking midfielder played for the Italian club from 2014-2018 and returned in 2021 before departing last summer – and he always took pleasure in showing people around Rome when they came to visit.
Asked what he enjoyed most about living in the city, he told FourFourTwo magazine: “That it’s basically an open-air museum.
“Every time I had visitors, I loved going into the city centre for lunch and taking a walk past the landmarks.
“It was easy to impress my friends – I didn’t have to do anything.
“People were always blown away by the beauty of the city.”
As soon as he arrived at Lazio, Felipe had it impressed on him just how seriously people took their derby games against Roma.
He recalled: “From the moment I arrived in Rome, fans were already telling me the dates of the two derby games.
“For them, those matches are everything, all year long, on both sides.
“Wherever I went, Lazio or Roma fans always knew those dates by heart.
“I always knew when I couldn’t afford to make mistakes.”
