The Anfield legend, 45, was speaking after a difficult run of form for Slot’s side, who are fifth in the Premier League after winning just four of their last 12 matches despite winning the title last season.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard said: “I’ll be brutally, brutally honest with you. I’d help Liverpool in any department at any minute of every day, I’d help them with anything.
“I don’t want Arne Slot to lose his job. I want him to fix this and turn it around and make Liverpool great.
“I was bouncing all over the city four or five months ago when Liverpool won the league. I’m a Liverpool fan. I want the best for Liverpool.
“But if Liverpool need me in any department at any time, I’ll be there for them.”
Gerrard is one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players, having made 710 appearances for the club as a midfielder and captained them to Champions League glory in 2005.
After retiring, he returned to Anfield as a youth coach before moving into senior management, most notably guiding Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2021.
Slot replaced Jürgen Klopp last summer and enjoyed immediate success by delivering the Premier League crown in his first season.
However, Liverpool’s form has dipped sharply this term, as after winning their opening five league games, they now sit 10 points behind leaders Arsenal and have also been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Crystal Palace.
The Reds have also struggled for consistency in Europe, sitting ninth in the Champions League league-phase table with four wins and two defeats, leaving qualification for the latter stages far from secure.
Gerrard’s comments have inevitably reignited speculation about a future return to Anfield in a coaching or managerial role, given his status at the club and previous experience on the touchline.
For now, Slot remains under pressure to arrest Liverpool’s slide and re-establish them as title contenders, with a demanding run of fixtures ahead likely to define both his short-term future and the club’s season.
