The British fighter will make his debut for the UFC chief's promotional arm when he takes on Regis Prograis on the undercard of Tyson Fury's comeback fight in April but Warren isn't sure that he is deserving of the money.
Warren told reporters: "I'll tell you something, the sums of monies that's being paid... I don't see what that type of investment is doing. He's not even the best at his weight in Essex.
"But good luck to him, good luck to him and he's getting a few quid and it is what it is. For me, I would definitely find better places to spend my money on, or better fighters to spend my money on. I don't see that investment, but maybe I'm getting older and they know better than I do."
Benn ended his long association with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom stable to join Zuffa Boxing and revealed that he plans to "take the world by storm" after joining forces with the UFC supremo.
He told Sky Sports: "Career's heading in the same direction which is world title by the end of the year, God willing, and just mega-fights. That's the plan. Give the supporters, the fans what they want. Come over here, all the belts are over here in America.
"Whatever the public want it to be it will be. I'm a servant of the public and I want to give the supporters the biggest and the best fights possible.
"I know we've got big plans for me to take the world by storm."
Meanwhile, Benn revealed that he would be open to a "wild card" bout against YouTuber Jake Paul but would prefer to focus on his world title ambitions first.
He said: "Jake Paul that would be an out there fight! I've got plenty of things I want to do and achieve in boxing before that, like the world title."
