Antonio Conte cautious over Eden Hazard return

Antonio Conte has indicated Eden Hazard might have to wait before reclaiming his place in the Chelsea starting line-up.

The Belgian playmaker made his second appearance of the season Tuesday night, coming off the bench for the final 33 minutes of the 6-0 Champions League victory over Qarabag as he continues to work his way back from ankle surgery.

The 26-year-old also came off the bench last weekend at Leicester and Conte has indicated Hazard may need to get used to playing a bit-part role for the time being, claiming he is unwilling to throw him straight back in to the firing line.

Asked if Hazard could start Sunday's clash against Arsenal, the Italian said: "It's too early to speak about this.

"We must have a bit of patience with him to give him the possibility to recover very well, to be totally fit. I think this is the right process for him."

Conte also went on to point out that he has two very capable deputies for Hazard in Willian and Pedro, both of who impressed in the emphatic win over Qarabag.

"Don't forget in the team there are two players, Pedro and Willian, who are playing very well," he added.

"We must be pleased to see him in the team. Now we must be calm and do the best for the player and the team, otherwise we risk a bad injury and delaying the situation."
