New Arsenal deal for Calum Chambers

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set to commit his long-term future to the club by signing a new four-year contract.

It was only back in October that the 23-year-old put pen to paper on a new two-year deal but his efforts in the side towards the end of last season have apparently persuaded the Gunners to offer him new and improved terms.

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery reportedly sees a big future at the Emirates for the defender and wants him to stay, despite interest from Fulham who were set to make an offer.

Chambers will now be in a battle with the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Rob Holding for a place in the Gunners back line, although Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also expected to complete a move in the near future.
