The video-sharing app looks set to rival Instagram with “a new app for photo posts” that has been dubbed, for now at least, TikTok Notes.

Users on TikTok were sent a notification that teased the new app, which, like the Meta-owned app, will enable users to write a caption with their images.

The ByteDance-owned site told TechCrunch it's “exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats."

No clues yet as to when the new app will arrive.

Whether it will be named TikTok Notes or TikTok Photos like a recently discovered code stated remains unknown at this time.
