Nikon hikes prices in response to US President Donald Trump's tariffs

Nikon is hiking prices in response to US President Donald Trump's tariffs.

The Japanese optics and imaging company known for its cameras, lenses, binoculars, microscopes, and precision equipment has announced that from June 23, 2025, customers will notice an increase in the price of their products.

The firm will be "carefully monitoring any tariff developments" and adjust prices to "reflect the evolving market conditions".

A statement read: "At Nikon, we remain committed to providing the highest quality imaging products and value to our customers. Due to the recent tariffs, a necessary price adjustment for products will take effect on June 23, 2025. We will be carefully monitoring any tariff developments and may adjust pricing as necessary to reflect the evolving market conditions. We wish to thank our customers for their understanding and know that we are taking every possible step to minimize the impact on our community.

"Customers with order inquiries should contact their authorized retailer for support. For orders placed through the Nikon Store on NikonUSA.com, please contact us here: https://www.nikonusa.com/content/contact-us."

The US imposed a 10 per cent baseline tariff on imports from most countries, including Japan.

Japan faces a 24 per recent reciprocal tariff on most goods, which is currently under a 90-day suspension set to expire in early July.
