Google brings vibe coding to Google AI Studio

Google has unveiled vibe coding, a new AI-powered development experience in Google AI Studio that aims to take users from idea to working app in minutes.

The redesign uses the company’s Gemini multimodal models to automate the process of building AI applications.

Instead of managing APIs or writing boilerplate code, users can now describe the kind of app they want to build in natural language - and AI Studio does the rest.

Google said in a statement: “Want to make a magic mirror app that transforms your selfie into something fantastical? AI Studio understands what you need and wires up the right models and APIs automatically.”

The new vibe coding workflow is designed to remove friction for developers and creators by combining tools like Veo for text-to-video generation, Nano Banana for image editing, and Google Search integration for citation checking.

The result is a platform where even non-coders can produce sophisticated, multimodal AI apps by simply describing their vision.

Other updates include a revamped App Gallery, showcasing real-world projects built with Gemini, and a Brainstorming Loading Screen that generates context-aware ideas while apps compile - turning downtime into creative time.

There’s also a new Annotation Mode, which lets users point, click, and modify elements visually instead of digging through source code.

Google says vibe coding is about “lowering the barrier between a great idea and a working app,” positioning AI Studio as both a development tool and a creative playground.

With Gemini embedded across the workflow, Google hopes to empower anyone - from seasoned developers to total beginners - to build AI apps intuitively and collaboratively.
