Marvel’s Wolverine, Marathon and Saros could appear at PlayStation’s State of Play

Sony’s next State of Play could deliver major updates on some of the PlayStation 5’s most anticipated titles, including potential appearances from Marvel’s Wolverine, Bungie’s Marathon, and Housemarque’s Saros.

The 60-minute showcase - taking place today (12.02.26) - promises fresh looks at upcoming third-party and indie titles, alongside updates from PlayStation Studios, and speculation is already swirling around what might make the cut.

Despite earlier suggestions from Insomniac Games that more on Marvel’s Wolverine would not arrive until Spring 2026, fans remain hopeful for another glimpse at Logan’s brutal adventure.

The title is widely expected to be one of Sony’s flagship releases next year, and even a brief gameplay tease would electrify the audience.

Meanwhile, Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon could use the spotlight.

Following a turbulent development period and mixed early impressions, a polished showing at State of Play would help rebuild confidence ahead of launch.

Another strong contender is Saros, the next project from Housemarque after Returnal.

With launch approaching, a deeper gameplay dive would make perfect sense.

Beyond first-party heavyweights, PlayStation could showcase exclusives like Phantom Blade Zero or updates on live-service experiments tied to the Horizon universe.

There is also room for surprise reveals - perhaps from Naughty Dog or Santa Monica Studio.

With Sony positioning this as one of its biggest digital showcases of the year, expectations are high.

Whether it’s long-awaited gameplay, release dates, or brand-new reveals, State of Play could define PlayStation’s roadmap for the next 18 months.
