The Kindle Scribe starts at £450, while the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is priced from £570.
The standout feature of the new lineup is the Colorsoft model, which introduces a colour display alongside enhanced writing and drawing capabilities.
It is the first colour Kindle that allows users to write directly on the screen, making it particularly appealing for artists and readers who like to annotate their books.
Amazon has improved the writing experience, with pen strokes said to be 40 per cent faster than on the previous generation of Kindle Scribe.
Users can choose from 10 pen colours, five highlighter shades, and a new shading tool.
The 11-inch display is designed to be easier on the eyes than traditional LCD screens, using a special filter and nitrate LED backlight to keep colours soft.
Beyond the display, the new Scribe devices are thinner at 5.4mm, lighter at 400g, and equipped with faster performance and increased memory.
New software features include Quick Notes, Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive integration, and artificial intelligence tools, such as Story So Far and Ask This Book.
