Tasha was born deaf and has had a cochlear implant - a surgically implanted electronic device that bypasses damaged parts of the inner ear to provide sound to those with hearing loss - since the age of five, and she has now opened up about what it "really sounds like" when you have one in.
Speaking in an Instagram video, she said: "One thing I know for sure is it's not the same as natural hearing, but it is pretty incredible."
The star gave audio examples of what it sounds like when she hears birds, or music, and people's accents.
She added: "Here's a cool part - even though it sounds different, I can still hear the pitch changes in voices, and I can still tell the difference between people's voices and accents.
"For example, British vs American.
"Don't get me wrong, it's still sometimes a challenge.
"If people's diction, lip pattern is not clear that's where it can really be tough.
"I do love an Irish accent, but even sometimes that's a tough one.
"Especially meeting new people, my brain has to learn their lip patterns. How their lips move, and that's how my brain slowly registers and remembers how the lip moves.
"Sounds a bit strange, I promise I'm not weird.
"It may sound different, but to me it's pretty incredible."
Tasha also wrote in the caption: "Let’s kick off Deaf Awareness Week by answering a question I get all the time, what does a cochlear implant actually sound like?
"And It might surprise you! Every experience is different but for me it’s not just about “hearing again” it’s about learning a whole new way to experience sound it’s a whole journey! (sic)"
