The streaming giant's gaming division is joining forces with 007 First Light developer Delphi Interactive and FIFA itself for a "streamlined football simulation game".
In a blog post announcing the game ahead of its June 11 release on the first day of the World Cup, Netflix said: "FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition is a new direction for FIFA football games that celebrates the emotion and joy of the sport.
"It’s fast, fluid and fun with friends (up to four players) — no matter how familiar you are with video games or football.”
The game will be seen on every subscriber's home screen at launch, while users can instantly play after scanning the QR code with their phone.
The device will also act as the controller, without the need for anything besides your TV and phone.
Users will get to play as any of the 48 teams in this year's World Cup, with the 16 real-world stadiums also included alongside 1,248 real players from the tournament.
It's said the game will keep evolving "over time", while there are plans to tie it to next year's Women's World Cup.
Meanwhile, Variety has been told that there will be daily updates during this summer's tournament, including new challenges and features related to the results and real life events.
The game will be free to anyone with a Netflix subscription, and there are no in-game purchases.
Instead, the game will reward players with in-game currency which can be used to boost their players' stats.
