Tinder trials Places in Australia

Tinder is trialling its Places service in Australia and Chile.

People on the hunt for love were over the moon when the dating app announced it was planning to connect people through location sharing and it looks like it's one step closer to launching as Tinder have officially announced that it's testing the service.

Places will allow users to find potential dates based on where they frequent - such a restaurant, park, theatre, shops and train stations - but the technology, powered through Foursquare, will prevent private places like the doctors from being shared.

The service will be automatically applied to the app but users can opt out of it.

Samantha Stevens, director of location products at Tinder, said: "We are looking forward to seeing how users adopt and interact with Places in our test markets and we will assess and make adjustments based on user feedback."
