Amazon Music launches hands-free Alexa on mobile app

Amazon Music has launched hands-free listening on the mobile app with Alexa.

The voice-activated digital assistant in the UK is now able to play the user's favourite music on their mobile device without having to press any buttons.

The function works when the Amazon Music app is open and in the foreground on any iOS and Android smartphones.

The voice features found on the Echo devices can play music dependent on your mood, activity, genre, lyrics, artist or song title, or even create a playlist just by asking, no searching or browsing required. Customers can now simply say "Alexa" to play, pause, move back and forth between songs, and much more.

Amazon Music first announced Alexa in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android with a tap-to-talk function in September 2017.

However, due to demand from customers, they have now enabled the hands-free function.
