Floyd Mayweather says his fight with Logan Paul will happen

Floyd Mayweather has assured fans that his fight with Logan Paul will happen.

The boxing legend had been set to fight the YouTube star earlier this month but the clash has been put on hold for the time being as they want a crowd to be in attendance and Mayweather says that it will be taking place at some point.

He said: "I know it's going to happen. We're just going to make sure everything's right, everything's where it should be."

The former world champion revealed that he has not been training for the fight but still believes that he is in "good shape" for the clash.

Mayweather said: "Well, I'm not in training but I always try and maintain my weight and keep my body in some type of good condition.

"I'm not in the best shape of my life but I'm in good shape. I can take my shirt off at the beach."

Mayweather's training regime was recently praised by fighter Devin Haney who suggested that the undefeated boxer was preparing for the fight with Paul as if he was fighting a top-level opponent.

Haney said: "His work ethic is crazy because he is still working. He still gets up at 5 or 6am to go running.

"He is training in the gym. He works like he's going to fight one of the top welterweights today."

Haney also likened Mayweather to basketball legend Michael Jordan for his achievement in the sport.

He explained: "It's great. I'm thankful to spend time and to learn from the Michael Jordan of boxing. He is a guy who has accomplished the most in his era, and someone I can learn so much from.

"He is different when you get to know him, and when you spend time with him. I wouldn't say more humble because I don't feel like he is cocky - he just does what he has got to do to promote himself. He is down to earth."
