Mike Tyson to make Bollywood debut

Former boxer Mike Tyson is to make his Bollywood film debut.

The ex-heavyweight boxing champion is to make an appearance in 'Liger' which is being billed as a sports action film.

The plot centre around a kickboxer with a stutter, who is played by Bollywood star Vijay Deverakonda.

While the details of Tyson's cameo aren't yet clear, his participation in the project was confirmed by one of the film's producers

Karan Johar.

Taking to Twitter he said: “For the first time ever, the king of the ring will be seen on the big screens of Indian cinema. “Welcoming Mike Tyson to the Liger team!"

The film was originally supposed to have been released on September 9 but was delayed owing to COVID-19.

Tyson has made a number of cameos in films over the years, he previously said his 2009 cameo in 'The Hangover' came as a surprise to him, as he was “doing drugs” at the time.

He said: “I met the guys in a club, they were in the VIP section and I said ‘This is where I normally sit, nobody’s normally here.

“So I went in there, I’m checking these guys to see what they’re doing in my section.

"It was Zach (Galifianakis) , the other guy, and he said, ‘We’re going to be in a movie with you.’

"And I said, ‘Yeah? When?’

"And he said ‘Tomorrow.’

“And I didn’t know as I was drinking and smoking back then, doing drugs so I didn’t know I was involved in the movie.

"So eventually I had to go and do the movie and it was a success.”
