Tyson Fury: Oleksandr Usyk won't beat an elite heavyweight

Tyson Fury has warned Oleksandr Usyk that he isn't capable of beating an "elite heavyweight".

The two fighters will put their unbeaten records on the line as they seek to become the undisputed champion of the division in next month's fight and the Gypsy King says that his former cruiserweight will get exposed against his power.

Speaking at a press conference in his home town Morecambe, Fury said: "We have weight divisions for a reason. When the cruiserweights step up to the big boys, usually they get found wanting.

"You can beat the average big ones, but you can't beat the elite big ones because size really matters.

"These are facts."

Fury admits that he has a healthy respect for Usyk and insists that his determination to beat the Ukrainian stems from the "business" of boxing.

The WBC world champion said: "It's not personal. It's strictly business for both fighters. There's a lot of stuff on the line, but I don't hate him. I respect him as a man, as a fighter.

"Anyone would have to respect the man's achievements. He's unified heavyweight champion, undisputed cruiserweight champion."

Fury is fully expecting to come out on top when the pair clash on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.

He said: "I'm the best. I'm just defending my 'best-ness' against him."

The British fighter's promoter Frank Warren has also backed his charge to come out on top by delivering a knockout punch to Usyk.

He told Sky Sports: "I think Tyson will knock him out. Like I predicted he would knock out (Deontay) Wilder in the second fight. I really fancy him to do that.

"I think he'll stop him but I think it's going to be a real, real exciting fight while it lasts.

"You've got two undefeated fighters, the best of their generation and we'll find out who is the real deal on the 18th."
