Kylian Mbappe: PSG are under pressure in Champions League semi-final

Kylian Mbappe knows there is "a lot of pressure" on PSG as they attempt to reach the Champions League final.

The French giants must overturn a 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final second leg on Tuesday (07.05.24) if they are to get to next month's Wembley showpiece but the forward is "confident" that the team can progress in their bid to win Europe's elite competition for the first time.

Speaking at an event in Paris, he said: "There's a lot of pressure, which is normal because there's a place in the Champions League final at stake, which is very important. Especially when you consider the club's record in the competition.

"We're aware of the pressure, but the group is extremely calm. We're confident that we'll come back from that score and reach the final."

Mbappe added: "I'm sure I'll arrive at the match in a good mood, ready to defend my team's colours and help us qualify for the final."

PSG coach Luis Enrique has emphasised the need to stay calm during the pressures of the semi-final and says his players are prepared to go to extra time if necessary.

He said: "The aim isn’t to win by two goals, but to win, if you think you have to score two goals that seems like a big target. We just want to play and score. If we score in the 89th minute, it will carry on. We don’t need to score right away, we just want to win the game.

"You could score twice in two minutes, but you could also concede a goal. We have to be 100 per cent focused on attack and defence. If we concede a goal, it is not serious, we have to stay calm. If we score twice very quickly, our opponents will have to react.

"It will be an even game with a high level of play on and off the ball, so it will be tough for both teams."
