The former Manchester City midfielder – who hung up her boots last year - has praised her England teammate for transforming the full-back position and encouraging other players in that position to treat it as an attacking role.
She told FourFourTwo magazine of her former teammate: “She’s redefined the full-back role in the women’s game.
“We didn’t see attacking full-backs until Lucy Bronze emerged and everyone has tried to follow suit. A proper winner.”
And Izzy, 32, can see Lucy’s influence on Demi Stokes.
She said: “Demi is always very reliable and similar to Lucy Bronze on the other side of defence in some ways.
“She used Lucy as a bit of a role model while playing on the same Manchester City team and started bombing forward from left-back.
“I always like to have a team where both full-backs go forward.”
Of all the managers Izzy played under, she felt Nick Cushing at Man City was the best.
She said: “Nick has a next-level football brain to deliver what he wants.
“He knows the game inside out, back to front, and in every way possible.
“I love his passion – I’ve never seen anything like it.”
