The former England captain has been providing analysis for various broadcasters since being sacked by Plymouth Argyle in December and has revealed that he is comfortable in the TV studio for the time being despite linked with a return to the dugout.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Rooney said: "Obviously just doing some TV work at the minute, so that’s what I’m doing.
"I’m enjoying it. So, that’s where I’ll be."
The Manchester United great was speaking after representing England in the Soccer Aid charity game for UNICEF at Old Trafford on Sunday (15.06.25), where his goal was not enough to spare the Three Lions from a 5-4 defeat against the World XI.
Rooney said: "We knew it was always going to be a tough game.
"They had some really good players in the team. But I thought it was a good game for everyone who came to watch.
"Unfortunately we didn’t win, obviously that was the fun but the main reason we’re all here today is to try and raise money."
Rooney revealed in January that he was not in a "massive rush" to return to management after being dismissed by Plymouth with the team at the bottom of the Championship.
He said: "I'm not in a massive rush to go back in – there's different things that I'm looking at to try and get involved with – unless something was absolutely the right to do.
"Every club I've been at, I've put myself in a really challenging situation. Sometimes you have got different ideas which you're trying to put across to the players, and maybe there's a bit of arrogance where you're thinking, 'This is the right way'. Having better players helps."
