The 29-year-old midfielder praised her former Manchester United and England teammate as a “sublime” player and expects she’ll be rated the best in the world in the years to come.
She told FourFourTwo magazine: “It’s only a matter of time before [Lauren] wins a Ballon d’Or. What she can do on the ball – her power, her control, her technique – is sublime.
“I’ve played with her for United and England and nobody wanted to take her on in a one-vs-one.”
Katie also heaped praise on striker Alessia Russo.
She said: “In my opinion, her prowess in front of goal is something that every aspiring No. 9 should look at.
“Alessia scores tap-ins, worldies, the lot.
“She has a huge presence around the box but can hold the ball and link play exceptionally to.”
The Angel City player is proud that she once called Fara Williams a teammate.
She said: “She was my idol growing up, so to get to play with her at Liverpool felt like a lifetime moment for me.
“Her passing range was unrivalled playing in the No. 6 role, controlling, creating openings and seeing things that others couldn’t.
“Fara is the most capped English player ever, male or female, and among the all-time legends of the game.”
