The 18-year-old Barcelona ace is one of the top contenders to win the prestigious individual accolade later this month and feels that he will only have himself to blame if he doesn't win the award several times.
Yamal told the Resonancia de Corazon podcast: "I told my friends I don't dream of winning one Ballon d'Or, I dream of winning many.
"I think I'm a player who has the ability to win it, and if I don't, it's because I haven't done things right or because I haven't wanted to.
"So, I dream of winning the Ballon d'Or many times and when the day comes [that I win it], I'll be very happy."
Yamal has revealed that he is determined to carry on "winning" ahead of a huge 12 months in his career with both Barcelona and Spain.
The attacker said: "I just want to keep winning. I want to win with my club and with the national team."
Yamal is considered one of the best players on the planet despite his tender age but stressed recently that he is "indifferent" to both positive and negative responses to him.
He said: "The truth is that I'm indifferent to both criticism and praise, unless it comes from my family or people very close to me, because otherwise, one day I'll be very high and the next I'll be very low."
The star is now determined to lead Barca to Champions League success and Spain to World Cup glory this season.
Yamal said: "I haven't won the Champions League, so I want to win the Champions League and the World Cup. Winning the title we've been missing, which was the Champions League, and continuing to grow and play just as well."
