Frank Warren says that Tyson Fury wants 2026 boxing return

Frank Warren has revealed that Tyson Fury "categorically" wants to fight in 2026.

The former heavyweight world champion announced his retirement from boxing earlier this year after suffering consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk but the promoter insists that Fury is eyeing a return to the ring at some point next year.

Warren told DAZN: "I spoke to him last week. He said that he's going to come back and fight next year. He wants to do it.

"He's had a very busy year this year. He's obviously not had a fight this year, but as we've all seen, he's had his documentary. He's been filming with Netflix for his At Home with the Furys series.

"He's also got another documentary that he's finishing off, plus other things he wants. I mean, he's told me categorically he wants to fight next year. So, we'll sit down and see."

Fury has frequently hinted at a return to the sport since retiring in January but suggested that a trilogy fight against Usyk in the UK would be the only bout with the appeal to tempt him back - particularly as he felt that he was hard done by in last December's rematch.

The Gypsy King: "If I was going to come back, I would come back for Usyk, but I want a fair result in England. That would be the fight I want next.

"I don't want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result which I know I didn't get. I thought I won that second fight by five rounds. I watched it literally 250 times and each way, I never see there's a way he won. But, they can do what they want."
