The two light-heavyweights will go head-to-head in Saudi Arabia on Saturday (22.11.25) night and the 34-year-old boxer thinks it is “inevitable” their clash will be gripping.
He told Boxing News magazine: “The way my brain works is, this could end up being a perfect fight for me, stylistically.
“Or, this guy could be way too much for me. That’s just boxing.
“My belief is that this fight is going to be tasty, like a stewed chicken, but some people are going to see it another way. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
“I’m going to try and take his head off; he’s going to try and do the same to me.
“But, at the same time, it’s boxing – we’re not going to leave our head there like it’s a pinball.
“When I say it’s going to be a ‘shootout’, it’s just because, stylistically, it feels inevitable.
“The way our characters are – me and him have spoken, I’ve seen his fights as well – neither of us are jokers.
“He likes to hurt his opponents and so do I. He likes to win his fights by knockout and so do I.
“So it’s just inevitable that it’s going to be a good fight.”
Anthony believes he has what it takes to be world champion.
He said: “There’s a video of me at the beginning of my career, saying, ‘I’m not training for now; I’m training for my future.’
“When I was fighting journeymen, people were like, ‘Why are you training so hard for four rounds?’
“But I could see myself eventually being in a position like this, just like I can still see myself becoming a world champion.
“When it comes to me and my future, I don’t exactly know how that’s going to be.
“I just know that I’m way better off than I was a few years ago, and I’m going to be better off than I am even now.”
