Luke Littler urges darts rivals to 'try and catch him'

Luke Littler has urged his Premier League rivals to "try and catch me".

The 18-year-old darts sensation has seen an upturn in form after sitting seventh after the first four weeks of the season, but he's now on 21 points and in pole position after his third nightly victory in Berlin.

He has averaged over 105 in all three matches against Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price and MIchael van Gerwen to claim the £10,000 prize.

Halfway through the campaign, he has now overtaken Jonny Clayton to claim the top spot.

He said: "It's been very interesting this Premier League.

"Obviously Jonny [Clayton] ran away with it a little bit, but I thought there was going to be a much bigger gap while I was sat seventh.

"I was also sat at sixth at one point but now they can all try and catch me!"

Littler insisted he's feeling much better after rising up the ranks, and he's determined to keep his spot as he looks to qualify for Finals Night at The O2 in London.

He added: "Feeling very good - better than the first few weeks. Now I'm at the top, I don't want to move from there - I want to stay at the top."

Meanwhile, the teenager previously revealed he is looking to dominate on the oche for years to come.

Back in January, he told Sky Sports News: "I want to be remembered for the titles that I win, the nine-darters I hit and I want to put down a legacy here [at the World Championship].

"I want to win so many trophies. There's so many years left."

However, the world champion insists that he won't be changing either on or away from the oche.

Littler said: "I'm just me. As you see me outside darts, inside the darts, I'll never change.

"I won't change for anyone. This is how I am. Even my mum and dad from the first Worlds were saying to me, 'Just don't change anything, just be yourself', and that's how it's going to be."
