John Barclay set for Edinburgh switch

Scotland skipper John Barclay has agreed to make the switch from Scarlets to Edinburgh next season.

The 31-year-old has been with the Welsh region since leaving Glasgow Warriors back in 2013 and has enjoyed a successful spell with the Scarlets, leading them to the Guinness Pro12 title last season.

However, Barclay is now set for a return north of the border with Edinburgh for next season, as head coach Richard Cockerill continues his development of a side that have played second fiddle to Glasgow in recent years.

A move to Edinburgh for Barclay is set to be confirmed next week but meanwhile the flanker is currently busy with the rest of the Scotland squad preparing for their autumn international against world champions New Zealand on Saturday.
