Brandon Mason move on cards

Watford left-back Brandon Mason is set to join Dundee United on loan after a short trial spell with the Scottish club.

Tangerines boss Czaba Laszlo is looking to bolster his ranks for a promotion push and needs new signings after losing Fraser Fyvie and Scott Fraser for the rest of the season because of injuries.

Mason, 20, made his Premier League debut for the club against Tottenham Hotspur just over a year ago and set up a goal in the Hornets' FA Cup third-round win over Burton Albion six days later.

The Westminster-born defender is being sent out on loan in a bid to gain first-team experience after failing to figure under Marco Silva.

Mason could make his debut for the Tannadice club against Falkirk at the weekend.
