Swans striker bid for Andre Ayew fails

Swansea may have to look elsewhere for a new forward after West Ham rejected their offer to re-sign Andre Ayew.

The Swans are desperate to add more firepower to their ranks as they battle to beat the drop and reports have been growing that a move for the Ghana international was in the pipeline.

Reports claim the offer has now gone in but has been rejected by the Hammers boss David Moyes, who is short of options himself after losing key striker Andy Carroll to yet another injury.

It has also been suggested that West Ham would be reluctant to sell to Swansea in this window while they are not safe from relegation themselves, and a deal looks unlikely unless a huge offers goes in.

West Ham splashed out £20million to sign Ayew from Swansea, who may now have to go higher than that figure to have a chance of getting him back.
