Nizaam Carr exit not a concern, says Juan de Jongh

Wasps centre Juan de Jongh believes the squad has enough depth to deal with the exit of compatriot Nizaam Carr.

Carr linked up with the Premiership outfit on a short-term deal from Stormers but his time in England came to an end over the weekend after helping Wasps to defeat Ulster in the Champions Cup.

De Jongh has hailed the quality of Carr, who he feels could potentially return to Wasps in the future, and admitted it was nice to have another South African around the place.

"In my eyes, he's one of the best No.8s in South Africa and to have him around was just awesome.

"He's going back to Super Rugby, he's going to work hard but it was nice to have him here and have another guy to speak Afrikaans. It made it more fun.

"Hopefully you never know, let's see what the future holds for him, maybe he'll be back in black-and-gold."

The 29-year-old feels Wasps have enough depth to deal with Nizaam's departure until England international Nathan Hughes returns from injury.

"We have some good players around as well. Hopefully Nathan Hughes will come back and things will be back to normal in the number 8 jersey," de Jongh added.

"But we're a classy outfit, a classy team and we're going to miss him but we've got loads of players champing at the bit to play."
