The south-coast outfit sit just one point and one place above the bottom three after falling to a frustrating 3-0 defeat away at Newcastle on Saturday.
The Saints are now focused on trying to overcome Wigan in the FA Cup on Sunday before they return to Premier League action away at fellow strugglers West Ham on March 31.
Hojbjerg insists now is the time for the players to step up and be counted as they look to avoid slipping out of the top-flight.
"We will do everything we can. We have to stay up. As a club, as players, we will stay in the Premier League next year because this is what we are," he said.
"But the reality speaks for itself and we can't hide. We can't come back from anything. The reality is speaking for itself.
"As easy as it is to step, as difficult it is to do it, there is no way around. There is no way of hiding. Not showing the balls you have, not showing who you are because anything less is not enough."
