Dyche fires transfer warning as Clarets miss out again

Sean Dyche says Burnley may have to push their financial parameters further if they are to sign the players they want.

Dyche has had a frustrating time on the transfer front this summer after seeing a number of deals fail to materialise, and has his work cut out to sign players before the transfer deadline.

The Clarets have been unable to agree a deal with West Brom for Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson, as the Baggies valuation of £25 million put them off.

Fulham also look set to win the race to sign Swansea defender Alfie Mawson in a £15 million deal and Dyche says the market is getting harder and harder to deal in.

"There's some money going around, if you look at what Brighton have spent - a lot - Cardiff have spent a lot, Fulham seemingly haven't stopped spending, Huddersfield have spent a lot," he said.

"They are pushing their own markets and their own parameters financially, and we might have to do the same. It's not the rights or wrongs of the market any more, people just pay whatever that deal takes."
