Burnley target fails to agree terms

Burnley's move for Sam Clucas looks to be on the verge of collapsing as the midfielder has failed to agree personal terms.

A fee of around the £8m mark was agreed between the Clarets and Swansea City and a move looked to be on the cards for the 27-year-old but the whole deal now appears to be off.

It will be a blow for manager Sean Dyche as he has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder and wanted to sign, the then Hull player, last summer only to see him opt for a move to Swansea and subsequently suffer a second Premier League relegation on the bounce.

Clucas becomes the second Swansea player Burnley have tried and failed to sign this summer after Alfie Mawson chose to move to Fulham last week instead of the Clarets.
