Virgin Media O2 launch immersive Stranger Things experience

Virgin Media O2 have launched an immersive Stranger Things experience.

The company have teamed up with Netflix to celebrate the upcoming fifth and final season of the sci-fi drama at eight O2 stores across the UK, including in Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, and four in London, with an activation running from now until January.

Fans can go back to the 1980s in the stores with immersive zones including Joyce's living room, where they can pose under the famous alphabet lights on the sofa, an interactive quiz that lights up the room, a retro wall phone playing iconic lines from the show, a boombox blasting out favourite songs from the decade, and a themed coffee table featuring a vintage viewfinder and a calendar revealing key Season 5 dates.

Rob Orr, Chief Operations Officer, Virgin Media O2 said: “As excitement builds for the final season of the global phenomenon, Stranger Things, Virgin Media O2 is giving fans the chance to step into Hawkins and immerse themselves in the show like never before.

"With eight of our stores across the country being revamped to include a unique pop-up experience, Virgin Media O2 customers are not only in with the chance of winning incredible Stranger Things prizes, they can also benefit from Netflix at no extra cost with our newly refreshed Virgin Media TV and broadband only bundles.

“This collaboration is a brilliant example of how Virgin Media O2 combines entertainment, connectivity and exclusive rewards through Priority to deliver unforgettable moments for our customers.”

As part of the experience, Virgin Media and O2 customers can also win money-can't-buy experiences via Priority including four tickets for a Stranger Things Season 5 UK special screening in London, a pair of tickets to nationwide screenings of the first two episodes in 11 locations, two days before they arrive on Netflix, and a pair of tickets to an immersive Stranger Things fan activation in London.

The partnership comes after Virgin Media recently updated its bundle line up so that all TV bundles and broadband only packages with M500 or above now include Netflix as standard and at no extra cost.
