Meta is introducing Instagram and Facebook shopping features to help influencers

Instagram and Facebook will help influencers link directly to products.

The Meta platforms are set to introduce commerce features like shopping links included in posts, rather than requiring users to use a third party "link in bio" type feature.

For Facebook, creators will be able to link affiliate accounts with brands, as well as tagging products in Reels and photos.

Instead of having to comment on a post with a link, influencers will now be able to attach approve products directly to content in a clickable floating bubble.

Initially, only Amazon will be available in the US, but Temu and eBay will follow in the coming months.

Over on Instagram, content creators will be able to feature 30 shoppable producers in a single reel.

Unlike Facebook, these won't be restricted in the same way, with influencers able to copy and paste their own links for individual items.

The items must be registered with Meta in the brands' commerce catalogue.

For both platforms, commission rates for influencers will be set by the brand partners.
