The company has filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office, which shows the new concept design that ditches the bezels at the bottom and sides of the phone, and takes the top bezel, turning it into a wafer-thin, notch-free bar.
According to Dutch mobile news website MobielLopen, the patent shows a screen following the curved edges of the Samsung Note 8 design to give a glossy infinity pool-style edge on the sides.
It appears the company is ready for a shift in its physical hardware in an effort to boost hidden features and wireless connectivity.
Note 8 users who were disappointed by the fact the fingerprint sensor didn't move under the screen for that model will be pleased with the patent, which shows no clear sensor on the rear of the phone.
However, the designs also suggest the next Galaxy will not have a headphone jack on the bottom of the phone, which could be a disappointment for fans of wired headphones.
