Tinder wants to "stay focused" on what it's "good at".

The dating app boasts more than two billion views per day in more than 190 countries, and now it's chief Elie Seidman has said he doesn't see the importance of branching out into different areas of social networking, because it's more beneficial to stay "focused" on one area.

Speaking about Facebook's decision to begin rolling out a dating product in multiple countries - which it started last year - Seidman said: "I'm a big believer that you want to really focus at what you're good at. Looking at the competition, it's going to drive you into their thinking, and you really want to have distinct thoughts."

Seidman doesn't feel threatened by Facebook's move into dating either, as he believes Tinder has done "extremely well" with its young audience, which is the company's area of strength.

He added: "I like our position. We're going to stay very focused on what we're good at."

And the CEO also touched on the importance of keeping Tinder users safe from the likes of bullying and harassment, and said the company has done "everything we possibly can" to keep people protected while using the app.

Speaking to CNBC's 'Street Signs', he said: "We've done everything we possibly can to make you safe. We always, of course, caution people and say, look, it's not an alternate universe ... it is the real world and the same caution and thoughtfulness you use in the real world, you should use on any digital community."
